I Would Rather

I would rather be hard headed and stubborn in my ways,
Than to be easily persuaded and always led a stray.
I would rather be open minded and open to new things,
Than to be closed minded and miss all that life has to bring.
I would rather have a soft heart than one made of stone,
Because loving everyone is better than always being alone.
I would rather see the good then always see the bad,
I would rather be happy than to always be mad.
I would rather wipe a tear off a stranger's cheek,
Than turn my back leaving them to weep.
